Digitalizing home videos?

I'm going to digitalize some home videos. Does anyone know what the best software for doing this is, and where the best internet discussion on video capturing can be found?

Everyone there will tell you that the Hauppauge is the best way to go. I have recommend a PVR-250 MCE. I bought it when it was about $200 but I've seen them around $60 lately.

It will record in DVD quality and the PVR-350 only requires something like a 400 Mhz pentium to run. Unbelievable!
