No-limit Image question

What is the ideal image you want the other players to have of you in No-limit? I occasionally have problems every couple of months where my strong, aggressive image "collapses" and people start calling everything, making it impossible for me to bluff, and taking a fairly large chunk out of my game. By tightening up for a few sessions and getting paid off on my large hands (which comes with the territory) I can slowly rebuild my image, but the losses I take before I recognize that I am getting eaten alive are fairly substantial. What's the best way to deal with your opponents feeling they have a leg up on you? Is it just to tighten up and wait until their views change, or is there a better strategy?
