If you have money to play poker then you surely can afford to buy the software.

PS. Piracy is unethical.

First, become a software developer. Then, spend years developing your own version of Poker Tracker to your exact specifications.

(btw, piracy is unethical)

Everyone here who uses PokerTracker has an interest in seeing the developer get paid, so that we get more new features and updates. Also, if you intend to use PokerTracker to help you take some money off of the fish in our games, you should at least have to pay the same price we did.

See that, I told you that why it's stupid to think that anyone here would want to help you with this, without hassling you about the ethics of piracy.

Don't listen to them and their ethics arguments felipe. Heres how you do it,

1. Get some paper

2. Get a pen

3. Record everything that happens on all 8 of the tables you are multi-tabling on. Starting hands, who raised, who didn't, who got to showdown, their aggression factor etc. Just the simple things

4. Put it all in a spreadsheet

I expect no financial reward for this advice

(if anyone offers actual advice on how to get a pirate copy of this software I will release the hounds on them)

Stop playing $0.01/0.02 and you too can afford PT. Mine paid for itself in an afternoon of $1/2

You can just write your own macro in Microsoft Excel to read hand histories for you. Legal and cheap. But with the time you would've wasted writing the macro, you could've made $55+ by playing poker. The added advantage in writing your own program is that you could sell it for $54 and get the PT market (if the program is good enough).

You can't.

No.

And anyone who helps you rip off Pat is scummy. This is just me rationalizing my own piracy behavior, of course, but I have very few qualms about illegal copies of, say, Photoshop or Microsoft Office. Big company and all that -- and since I just make graphics for leisurely non-profit purposes, I don't feel bad (if I were to get paid for a graphics design job, I'd be compelled to get a legal copy).

But Jesus H, man. Pat's a lone guy with a few people helping him, he answers questions personally and is constantly updating -- it's just friggin' ridiculous to pirate his program, especially given how quickly it pays for itself. Cough up the $55 or go without.

I considered pokertracker a prerequisite before even sitting at a real money table. You get the first 1000 hands for free to try it out and realize it is more than worth it. What more could you want?

Stealing from the little guy is unethical. The big guys jack their prices to cover the cost of the clever.

I have a PT key generator I'll sell you for $60.

hmmmm, interesting. I'll remember those lovely ideas you all shared.

I hope you are joking.

$60 keygenerator eh?
I'd buy it. I'd copy it and sell it off for $54 to multiple people.
(only joking)

BUY THE DAMN THING, YA CHEAPSKATE!!

It sure wouldn't make any sense AT ALL if he weren't.

(I think he's joking).

Pat's one of the few people who really stands behind his product and cares about customer service.

If you can afford to play poker, you can afford to not screw over the good guys. Go mess with Microsoft or something -- they'll never feel it. Pat deserves every cent, and the program is worth much more than the $55 he charges for it.

According to my usual behaviour pattern with software I had the same urge to steal it. It took me about 5 minutes at Pat's website and 15 minutes toying with the try out to see what a great product this is and that I felt better if I pay up.

One hint though for non US-buyers (I think): I paid per credit card through the agent and they charged me VAT (6$ or so). Pat offers account transfer through Party or Empire (read it on his website) which saves a bit this cost for you and probably is financially better for him.

One thing that I didn't like about the whole pokertracker thing is that Pat will not offer any type of discount for pokertracker for signing up to a poker site through his website which of course he would either receive a referral fee more than what pokertracker costs or he would be receiving some % of revenue said player generates. Flame away.

Pat adds legal codes to the database depending on what product number you mail him. He manually adds each code so no key generator or guessing random numbers will work.

Thats the benefit of a one man operation...He didnt make a one time thing with X # of active codes.

Not pirating this anytime soon.
