Hi, I am lucky enough to have a wife that earns enough where i don't have to work if I don't want to. I am a 29yd old married father of 2 girls. Now with both of them in school and no 9-5, I have nothing but time on my hands. I have been playing poker, B&M and online, for about 6 years now. I am not part of the WPT craze, I am lucky enough to be able to appreciate what it has done for the game. I started playing live, opened my first account on Paradise when they were #1 and since have spent my time about 50/50 between B&M and online. Live I have played up to 30/60 (15/30 regularly) limit and 5/10 no limit. Online I play tourneys and up to 15/30 limit. I also study and am a student of the game. What I am looking for is to build a relationship that can be profitable for the both of us. I am asking to be staked 70/30, either in cash games or tournaments of your choice. you can contact me at stakesauce@hotmail.com

I saw you on Party. You are a weak player. Anybody who gives money on you is throwing it down the drain.

You busted out, and that's why you need a stake.

And you're so broke, you can't even afford to buy a $20 classified ad.

Anybody with enough money lying around to stake you is surely intelligent enough to wonder why after allegedly playing these mid limit games for 6 years you suddenly have absolutely no poker money whatsoever.

Why not ask your wife to stake you?

I was just ignoring this, but since TSP beckoned....

OK....

1) You have plenty of time to play poker.

2) You have been playing online for years.

3) You have done well in tournaments and ring games up to 30/60 LHE and 5/10 NLH.

4) You have a solid regular income coming into your household.

5) You need a stake.

Please explain.

Heh, either I'm retarded and misposted my response or my response got deleted. It wasn't an assshole response so I'm guessing #1. It was about exactly the same as diablos...

Hello,

I would love to go 70/30 with you on a steak. T-bone is probably best, because then i can just take the strip and you can have the filet. That's pretty close to 70/30. Can you make it to the Ruth's Chris in Cleveland this Saturday evening? My no-limit game could use some work, so maybe we could talk about poker while we eat.

Speaking of which, is Ruth's Chris really worth it? I have had dinner for two before that exceeded $100 but I've never been really impressed and felt it was worth it (except this one time I went to Texas de Brazil... holy crap that's the best restaurant I've ever been to). Would really like to try Ruth's Chris one day though.

(btw: I think we've successfully hijacked this thread. New thread subject: Yummy Overpriced Restaurants)

Without a doubt, the Hereford House in downtown Kansas City. Make sure to get the stuffed mushroom caps.

Only thing I miss about KC!

Ruth's Chris is worth it at least once, but not if you're looking for a "classy" dining experience.

It's a place to go eat steaks, french fries, and side orders of extraordinary size. They cook the steaks much hotter than a lot of places do, with more butter than usual. It's worth checking out, even though there are a lot of places (at least in states directly adjacent to an ocean), that are worth it more.

Wow, something I agree with. Also, the Fogo de Chao and Sal Carvao Brazilian steakhouses in the Chicago area are damn good. Hereford is probably the best non-Brazilian steakhouse I've tried, though there are many that are on the list.

It stands for "no message". You put it in the subject line when the entire message is in the subject line itself (the actual message is empty). This means that people don't have to click on the message only to discover that it is empty. It's a useful time saver for everyone (there are lots of variants people use instead on different message boards like "n/t" which stands for "no text", "eom" which stands for "end of message", "ssia" which stands for "subject says it all" and so forth).

Note to TSP: Putting "n/m" in the body, but not subject, of the message defeats the whole point. It's frustrating to click on a message and find it just says "n/m". Sorry, I'm not trying to be an ass or anything; I just thought that I would point that out as long as I was answering the question anyway. (referring to the "Uh, Diablo? Could you handle this please?" post).

Don't you guys realize that responding to this guy just helps his cause, since it moves his post to the top of the stack again? Oh wait... Damn.

Wow...what do you know. I was just chatting with the wife about investing some money in poker players. I told her it would be a great write off for all our lotto winnings. She did have one condition. I can only invest in players who rank in the Top One Thousand.
Stakesauce, I am sorry. When I looked up your ranking you JUST missed the cut. (Honestly I didn see your name at all.)Don't give up on your dream just yet. I will be starting with #1 in the world and work my down until I find a pro who is broke and needs backing. If I make it through the whole list of world class names without finding a player....Will then.... Saucey....your are the man!!!

I've never been there but I don't see how it could be better than Morton's of Chicago's porterhouse.

The answer is "No". I have eaten at the Ruth's Chris in Cleveland several times and have been unimpressed for the most part and thoroughly disgusted at least once. In fact, many years ago when the Ruth's Chris in Cleveland first opened, my girlfriend worked there so I have experience from both sides of the table. Take your money elsewhere, such as the Mortons in Tower City.

On the up side, I gave the Ruth's Chris here in Las Vegas a shot and it was a bit better than the one in Cleveland.

Alright, I forgot Arthur Bryant's. One of the the happiest days of my time in KC is when they put an AB in the Ameristar Casino. I could play 20-40/30-60 HO on Friday nites and have a big ole Pulled Pork Sandwich and Fries delivered right to the table.

mmmmmmmm . . . .

I've never been particularly impress with Ruth Chris.

The best steak I've ever had is at a restaurant about 15 minutes from my house.

Perry's grille. located in The Woodlands, TX (just north of Houston)

Have you done a deal yet? I'm keen to hear how it works out.

Pokertracker stats would be nice, too. What's your current bankroll?
