Im heading out there in November and Im still pretty new to the game, much less never gambling in a casino. Can anyone give some friends and I some advice on where to go for a good low buy-in game? Thanks!

For a low buy-in tournament, I would take a look at Luxor. For cash, I think you can find some lower limits (3-6) at The Mirage, while still getting the big cardroom experience.

Every card room in Vegas has low limit holdem (i.e., 2/4, 3/6, or 4/8 generally). My personal preference for low-low-low limit beginner holdem is the 1-3 spread game at the Excalibur.

For tournaments, the Luxor is cheap -- but not really an experience indicitave of real tournament play. The Orleans offers a wide variety of daily tournaments, and for lower buy-in daily tournaments I recommend the Imperial Palace.

Cool deal, thanks for the suggestions. Im sure it will be me and a friend mostly playing, would ya'll suggest doing a small tournament or just normal play to get the most play in?

BTW, this is more of a learning experience for me more than anything...

The 1-3 and 2-6 spread games at Excalibur are great. If you want something a bit higher, try the 4/8 at Mandaly with half-kill. Great room, lotsa fishies and very nice cocktail waitresses.

Just curious... but what does "half kill" mean?

Also for anyone else if I currently 4 table 3/6 what limit should I play in a live vegas game? How much higher if multitabling 5/10, 10/20, or 15/30?

thanks.
