very loose table

5 limpers. sb completes. i'm in the bb and raise with A /images/graemlins/club.gif8 /images/graemlins/club.gif. they call. 6 to the flop for 12 sb.

flop: 6 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif8 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

sb checks. i check. utg checks. mp1 bets. mp2 calls. co calls. sb folds. i fold...

Do we always raise with A-8s against multiple loose limpers? I ask because if I flop a top pair of 8's, I'm not exactly thrilled.

This makes sense to me. The reverse implied odds are horrible here and you can't protect your hand at all.

Would you have c/r a late position better?

I usually raise A8s here for its equity. With less/tougher limpers, I might check it.

Seems like a reverse-implied odds nightmare, but then you're looking at a very large pot.

I think I would be willing to see a turn card for one bet (assuming you don't think UTG will check-raise). If it's a blank, you might want to stick around.

Did you have any player reads here?
