Right now I can do 25 pushups, rest three minutes, and do 25 more.

I made a prop bet: by Christmas, I need to be able to do 60 pushups, rest three minutes, then 60 more. What's the best way to get there?

A. Just do 25, 25, two days later do 26,26, two days later do 27,27 etc.?

B. Pick a couple of days in the week and just do as many pushups as possible?

C. Something else?

Thanks

C. PCP is the answer

B. Easily. To some treadmill work too, as your arms aren't the only thing that will get tired

um, do any exercise that works your pecs and triceps.

Do as many pushups as you can. Keep going until you literally can't do another. Wait 3 minutes. Repeat. Do this once a day.

Do as many sets as it takes to get 60 pushups with about 1 minute rest between sets. It may look like 20,10,10,8,6,4,1,1 or whatever. Do it maybe twice a week as part of your workout regimen. Do other physical activity as well. Also, losing a little weight may help with this. If you are relatively untrained right now I suspect you will easily be able to meet this goal. I had success doing a similar type of workout for pullups only once a week.

maybe not ANY--I mean, high weight/low rep work won't help as much as high rep stuff, or so I was thinking..

I don't want to get the hell beat out of me by LAPD.

(in the Rodney King case, wasn't that one of their justifications: "We thought he was on PCP and had the strength of ten men"?)

You want to do anything that will increase your stength and endurance of those muscles. So therefor, I would do push ups and probably several sets of benching with a low to medium weight, but with high reps. Dips and pull ups could/should help as well.

I dont think you need to do anything physical. Just man up and do the 60. Tell yourself theres money on the line and just KEEP going. You'll be surprised how much you can push yourself past what you thought your limit was.
