Anyone see that shuffler they use on Poker Superstars over on Fox Sports??? It pops out, you put a deck in, take the other out, and push it back down... anyone know where one can be bought like that??? I wanna put it in my next table

Do a search about 6-8 months back, regarding shufflers at Canterbury. I think I recall that they are available for lease only. Either that or they are VERY expensive, like 10s of thousands. Not sure though.

10s of thousands ... alright then, hand shuffling it is...

Love them. You get 3-5 more hands an hour. More tokes for the dealer, more rake for the house and more money to the winning players. These are bad only for losing players (and we've got none of them here, right)?

Casino shufflers are at least five grand. Multi-deck auto-shufflers are the reason shuffle-tracking is worthless at many blackjack tables. I think I've seen single-deck auto-shufflers for under $50, though. Try Walmart.

Single-deck-Walmart-or-Kmart-or-Walgreens-or-wherever card shufflers are pieces of sh|t...

Waste of time, waste of money, too much hassle.

Hand shuffle and be happy.

They've got them in a couple tables at Foxwoods but don't use them. One of the more competent dealers told me they'd had a lot of problems with them not working if it was too humid/dry too hot/cold or if you didn't set the deck in the mechanism exactly correctly, it'd jam. These may not be the same as the ones on the PSI broadcast but I would be surprised if any of the available models work flawlessly every time.

They've got them in a lot of tables down in Tunica, MS and they use them regularly without any problems (I've never seen a problem with one in my many hours at the tables).

Humidity doesn't make sense as I'm certain the humidity in Tunica, MS is higher than at Foxwoods in Mass....

Shufflemaster makes them. As someone pointed out, you can't buy them, only lease them and I'm not sure they would lease to an individual.

when i played in tahoe in july at the horizon they had one and it sped the game up. the only problem was that the people at my table all knew each other and i semibluffed my whole stack away when i flopped an openended straight flush draw and missed everything post all in. he did call with bottom pair though, which was encouraging.

Personally, I have no idea if they're problematic or not-- I was just repeating what I'd heard and it sounded plausible to me. I've never seen one up close-- how exactly do they work?

Not sure how they work but shufflemaster's website should give some details.

I've only played at a table with them in Excalibur. It seemed to work fine with the dealers who had mastered the art of grabbing the cards out of it before it closed.

We get probably 80% more hands an hour in our game with a very simple and free technique:

Use 2 decks. One deck is shuffled while the other is in play. The dealer puts a fianl shuffle and cut on the deck and the cards are back in the air 10 seconds after the last pot had been dragged.

We use a dedicated player dealer and other players take turns on shuffling duty. It does take a little getting used to, but after one session you'll be flying.

In case it's not obvious, you want to use decks with 2 different backs.....

It is made by shuffle master - sells for 10k, leases for 409 per month, must have a business license to get, this is for a single deck Ace model....'

Looks like we will be shuffling by hand////
