First time poster, long time reader /images/graemlins/cool.gif
I was at a casino last night and sat down at the $2/4 tables. After folding a bunch of hands, I finally got a good one:

A /images/graemlins/spade.gifK /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
I am at UTG+2
UTG raises to 4, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises to 6.
Everyone folds to button who calls 6, blinds fold, UTG caps at 8, hero and button call.

Flop comes
A /images/graemlins/heart.gif 10 /images/graemlins/club.gif5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
UTG bets 2, hero raises to 4, button folds, UTG raises to 6, Hero caps.
Turn is K /images/graemlins/spade.gif
UTG bets 4, hero raises to 8, UTG calls
River is 5 /images/graemlins/spade.gif
UTG bets 4, hero goes all in (out of money) for 8, UTG calls.

Anyone guess what he had, and did I play this correctly?

This is my first reply so if anyone else has something they would like to comment on please feel free. I think it's pretty obvious you ran into a pocket pair, either aces or tens. The aggression shown preflop (ie. capping the betting) and on the flop when the ace dropped are pretty strong indicators. If he did have pocket kings, I think he might have slowed down some on the flop when the ace fell. Having said that AK is also a strong possibility as he might have put you on AQ. If I'm in this situation I call the flop reraise, and then call him down the whole way. You can't feel too good about AK when your opponent is showing this much aggression, you probably ran into a set. tough luck sometimes, but you can't let go of AK on a 2-4 table either.

I play this the exact same way. How did it come out?

Well played, but if you get short-stacked you need to reload. You never want to hit a monster and not have enough to bet. I take it you lost this hand, but I play it the same way.

I dont remember the suits he had because I was so pissed, but he had 5 6 offsuit. I almost **** myself. I lost my $100 at that table to 9 3 suitted (I had pocket jacks and hit the jack, he had a straight w/the 3) and to this hand. Pretty much only 2 hands I played. I was so mad I decided I better not play or else I would be on MAJOR tilt. Day was still fun after I calmed down, though /images/graemlins/smile.gif
