Does multi tabling increase or decrease your variance ? If it increases your variance doesn't that require a larger bankroll ?

not sure on the varience, but it does decrease your win rate, which increases your required bankroll.

It most definitely increases your hourly variance. It doesn't in terms of hands played assuming you play just as well with however many tables you're playing as you would playing just one.

It doesn't not increase your variance per hand, so no increased bankroll requirements.

Should be fairly obvious that playing 250 hands on each of 4 tables is the same as playing 1000 hands on a single table.

Actually, you could look at it as decreasing your variance: playing 4 tables of 5-10 is like playing one of 20-40, but with less variance. (assuming no change in win rate between levels or decrease in winrate from multitabling - not that bad an assumption as you might expect better winrate at the lower level, worse winrate from mt'ing - partial cancel)

As GoT pointed out, bankroll is dependent on both variance and winrate. This is trivial to prove. I suggest snooping around on blackjack forums (like Stanford Wong's) if you want good info on risk of ruin.
