Easy fold...remember the gap concept.

Outcome: Hero wins t4365. </font>

The gap concept was on my mind here, but I went against my instinct to fold hoping I wasn't dominated, which was likely. Just posting the results as a follow up, not meant to bring about results oriented thinking as I obviously caught a miracle flop. I figured I could have easily outplayed either of them heads up but it was worth the gamble of ~1600 chips to just try to kill two birds with one stone; they were playing somewhat loosely anyhow, as would be expected from a short stack. Most likely I'll be folding here in this situation in the future to fold my way into good heads up position.

You should be thinking in terms of equity...not "kill two birds with one stone, or "wait utnil I can outplay them HU".

A4s is definetely not good often enough for calling to be correct, simple as that.

Everything about your follow up post tells you folding was the right move. The result, your comment above...just donating 1600 more chips to your opp isn't too smart. And that's basically what you'll be doing in this spot the great majority of the time.
