Hi. This hand cost me quite a few chips in a SNG earlier. Please have a look.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (8 handed)

Hero (t1390)
UTG (t2270)
UTG+1 (t1170)
MP1 (t1550)
MP2 (t1220)
CO (t1085)
Button (t2660)
SB (t2155)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 3/images/graemlins/club.gif.
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls t30, MP2 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (t90) 8/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, J/images/graemlins/club.gif (3 players)
SB bets t120, Hero raises to t240, MP1 folds, SB calls t120.

Turn: (t570) 6/images/graemlins/spade.gif (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t360, SB calls t360.

River: (t1290) J/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: t1290
Main Pot: t1290 (t1290), between Hero and SB. > Pot won by SB (t1290).

Results in white below:
Hero has 8h 3c (two pair, jacks and eights).
SB has Tc Th (two pair, jacks and tens).
Outcome: SB wins t1290.

Ok. My analysis:

(1)
I was confident I was in front on the flop. If the SB had flopped a set then I couldn't believe he'd come out with a bet greater than the pot - more likely a smaller bet or a check-raise? I assumed he had a Jack.

(2)
I think my first mistake was the min raise. I don't like to do this unless I want a call, which I didn't here as my hand was vulnerable. I think I should have raised to 360 instead.

(3)
After he checked the turn I thought about pushing, but decided it was too early (mistake? can it ever be too early?). So I bet around 2/3 of the pot (mistake? too weak?). He called, maybe thinking I was on a draw?

(4)
After he checked the second Jack on the river I quickly checked (mistake?) fearing he would call any bet with a Jack - but I guess a bet then may have won it?

Please tell me how you would have played it.

Thanks.

Pot sized bet on the flop, push the turn, based on your observations.
