Hi everybody...

Dan Krier here. Author of 'Russ Bailey Poker' -- www.RussBaileyPoker.com (http://www.RussBaileyPoker.com)

I've been busy roaming around the west getting the word out on the book and haven't had a chance to read up on the posts about my book on 2+2 until now. I sent a free copy to 'dogmeat' and I see that he started a thread back on the 14th of Sept. He's a pretty nice guy, I see. Very complete assessment on his part.

Yeah, the book isn't perfect (I wish I DID have extra $ for a professional editor), but I'm extremely proud of the
message the book sends, and that message is what's got people really interested in the book. The lessons learned
by experiencing the game of poker are what make it such a great game and hobby, so it makes me happy to spead Russ Bailey's advice. I'm not kidding when I say that EVERYONE who's read the book has loved the "self-help" (if you will) aspects of it. There's substance to the thing, and I'll never feel bad for writing it.

And I completely stand by all the poker tips listed in the book. They're really unorthodox, I know. And that's great
that some people totally disagree with some of the strategies. It's awesome to hear detractors. The poker techniques are unusual, but they helped Russ win for years on end, they're letting me win over and over again (online and at the casinos), and they're creating winners all over the US (and in the UK, too, where the word is starting to spread as well).

So if people are skeptical, email me at help@russbaileypoker.com, and i'll pick 5 more people to send free books to. We're on edition 1A, so it's not perfect (I realize that). But I'm almost sold out of the first printing and the 2nd will be professionally
proofread and perfect bound. The message inside the book is worth the bumps along the way.

That's it from me. I wish everybody great luck, even my good friend dogmeat.

later on,

DK

p.s. -- signed copies are up for auction on eBay. search 'russ bailey' to see. thanks 2+2!

I'll bite. Who is Russ Bailey ?? I would think there are enough books out there from the people we've heard of, is it really time for the obscure ?

In April of 1940, Russ Bailey was born in Akron, Ohio. As the only child of blue-collar parents, Russ learned at an early age that success could only be achieved by hard work and a dedication to one's self. His father's death in 1950 followed by his mother's passing in 1958 caused Russ to become more of a loner, so in 1959, he packed up his things and moved out to San Francisco, California to work for his uncle's construction business.

After working in numerous places throughout central California for the duration of the 1960's, Russ took a management job at a shipping company in Reno, Nevada in late 1969. It was there that Russ discovered his prowess at the game of Poker. He played the game only as a hobby for a few years, and found that the same principles by which he had achieved success in life allowed him to win money at the poker tables. Right away, Russ made sure to take note of the tactics and strategies that were gaining him victories.

Through the early and mid-1970's, Russ played all over Nevada in games like 7-card stud and 5-card draw, but he found the variables too few to hold his interest. It wasn't until the widespread introduction of Texas Hold'em in the late 70's that Russ fell head over heels in love with the game of poker.

Russ, who had built up a good-sized savings by this point, got an apartment in Las Vegas in 1979, and began playing Hold'em full time. The rest, as they say, is history. From 1979 to 2003, Russ Bailey was able to travel all over the Western United States, and the methods he used to win at poker back in 1969 still held true as he won time and time again.

In the 1990's, Russ settled down in the Los Angeles area, and began a calmer life, still playing Hold'em as much as possible. Shortly before his death in 2003, Russ Bailey achieved his last goal, to get his wisdom down on paper so it could be passed along to others. "The Russ Bailey Guide to Limit Texas Hold'em Poker" is the fulfillment of Russ Bailey's dying wish.
