Just finished my 101st $10 tourney on PP.
Stats are:
Net Gain of $514 ($1101 of entry fees)
Avg. finsih 4.09
1st - 19
2nd - 15
3rd - 12

2 questions:
Are these better than average stats? (Should I move up in buy-in)

If I am average 2.0-6 BB/hr playing .5/1, 1/2, and NL 25 am I better off spending more time in the ring games or concentrating on tourneys?

Thanks

Those are very good results as I´m sure you know.

But, 101 games doens´t prove anything. I´m pretty sure you are a winning player but you will probably not be able to keep up that win rate over 1000 SNGs. Who knows - maybe your next 100 will result in negative ROI.

What I´m saying is that you shouldn´t let stats from 101 SNGs decide wether you should move up now. Then you should play 500 or 1000 to get a more accurate picture of where you stand. However, if you feel you win because you play much better than your opponents there´s no reason not to move up in my opinion. I don´t think the level of skill is a big deal between 10+1 and 20+2.

Whichever you decide, good luck!

Moving up from 10+1 to 20+2 is more of a bankroll question. I think your results are after 100 SnG's at that level to conclude that you can make the jump. I have moved up that ranks from $10 to now $50 and hav only noticed a differance at the $50 level( more starting chips and less bad players)

So if your bankroll supports it go for it. You can always move back to 10+1 if you have a bad run.

Good stats. As I'm sure you can see your ROI is near 50%, which is very good. If you have a bankroll of between 20-30 buyins for the 22$ SnGs then you should be able to move up if you feel comfortable.

Regarding limit rates, you can figure out the math for yourself as to which gives you a better hourly rate, but I would say that you should do what you enjoy, which for me is usually the SnGs. Playing 10$ SnGs isn't going to pay the bills, so get experience at what you enjoy playing. Right now I'm trying the 6max limit tables at Party to clear my bonus, and that's been fun as well.

Personally,

I don't see why people see "Moving Up" as an all or nothing choice. You have a good record at $10, so why not start playing every 4th game or something at $20 and see how it goes. Or play a $20 after everytime you win a $10 - or whatever. This allows you to gradually decide for yourself when you have finally reached a level that is optimal without risking your bankroll.
