Just seeing if my math is right: Unless Minnesota wins all 3 against CLE, then Bos will play the winner of the west. This is correct, right? Because OAK and ANA have better head to head against MIN.
The Yankees play whoever has a worse record between the Minnesota Twins and the AL West winner.
Boston plays whoever has the better record.

If either OAK or ANA sweeps the series then it doesn't matter because both win the tie breaker and all three currently have the same record.
If there isn't a sweep then Minnesota will have to win it's 3 remaining games to beat out whichever of the other two teams wins 2 games.
Your math is correct provided neither OAK or ANA sweep that series.

I've read this elswhere too. The Sox will play the AL West winner unless Minnesota sweeps their series this weekend and the Oakland-Anaheim series goes 2-1.
