No HH, sorry.

Multi-table tourney on UB. $10+$1 buy in. 96 players, 23 left. I'm in 6th place.

Relevant Stacks:
Me: ~6000
SB: ~2000
BB: ~3500

I'm on button with A9o.
Everybody folds, I raise 1BB.
SB calls, BB calls.

Flop 2d8hAc
SB checks, BB checks, I bet pot.
SB folds, BB calls.

Turn 8d
BB checks, I bet 1900 (BB has 1890 remaining).
BB calls

River 4c

Result: (in white) BB wins with AsTs

Ok, so maybe I shouldn't have put him all in on turn. I thought I could cause him to fold by making him make an all-in decision. What would you have done different, if anything? Obviously your answer is affected by your knowledge of the outcome. Would you answer any differently if he had flipped over TT or A5 or something?

It's not so awful. I would have raised more than the minimum preflop, I think a minimum raise is very rarely right. I'm not sure what to say about the turn bet because I don't know how big the pot was. I certainly wouldn't make the bet if it was a big overbet, but if it was a reasonable facsimile of the pot size, it seems right to me. You have top pair against a random hand heads up, after all.

BB was 150 at this point. My pre-flop raise along with their calls put the pot at 900 for the flop. My flop bet was 900. That means his stack size was 3050 (sorry for the error) (300+900+1850).
