SB has been playing very weak and has not been involved in many hands since the final table. I figure I am at least a 2:1 underdog possibly 3:1. Is it worth a call?

If you are going to call this you need to be pushing instead of making a standard raise. As it was, personally I muck here, but it is close.

You are saying I should have raised bigger BTF? How much would you raise?

Thanks,

Too often big stacks become timid when dealing with small stacks. You have odds to call, and if your read is correct on your opponent, you should be able to come back if you lose.

I probably fold, but calling is a viable option. Would like to know the outcome.

Good luck in the future!

fold and remain the chip leader - you will get another chance!

I'd make a smaller pre-flop raise, either 2000 or 2400. It gives you a much easier decision as far as getting away from your hand. Your other option is just to go all-in preflop and hopefully fold some better hands.

Well I didn't exactly get any answers. I got one who said raise more and one who said raise less and one who said fold. Meanwhile I was asking about calling the all-in bet /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

If anyone else wants to chime in it would be much appreciated, because I am not a very good nl player. For those of you that are interested here is how the hand played out.

I would fold to the all in, but I would have limped preflop.

After looking at the results, I'd call /images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Seriously, I think I would call here as well - you're almost even to slight dog in pot odds, however if you win you move up in $$$, as well as become a strong favorite to win the tourney. Furthermore, if you lose, you mentioned SB was weak. It seems as if you would be able to chip away at his stack.

I think you have to call. I think the odds are close enough to justify PLUS it helps to show that when you raise you will put someone's stack at risk if they come over the top.

What I was saying is that if you are going to call an all in raise from the bigger of the two stacks, you might as well push yourself first, since that will get you more folding equity. I reccomended folding here, but it was close.

What the other guy was saying was raise less, since 2000 will get you nearly the amount of folds that 2400 will, and will make it easier to fold to a push. This is also good thinking.

Only one way to settle this... you need to post a poll. Options should be call and fold.

Personally I would have folded. You mentioned he hasn't seen very many flops at the final table. He raises all in here in 2nd place, risking a 3rd place finish. This tells me he has a great hand. It worked out though.
