2+2 recognition codes?

I keep reading about people who know that they're playing with 2+2'ers, but I have no idea how they know it. Then I came across a post which claimed that there's some kind of recognition code which will be passed around on the chat, but the post might have been a joke (something about a brown trout in the closet).

Anyone care to enlighten me?

It's not a joke, but generally it's not necessary.

If someone asks: does the brown trout sleep in the closet?

Simply reply: aye, she does.

I think it's she, and not it. Not sure though.
