I hate checking when I miss the flop on AK, because I don't want a worse hand to steal the pot from me. Is this just a dumb way to think? I figure any serious bet comits me, so I pushed.

Losfer,

Yeesh, it would be tough for me to push here against two players, with one still left to act.

Who are these guys? What does it mean when they flat call your UTG raise? Any A, pp, QJs?? I might think mid to low pocket for at least one of them and with this flop it would be tough to push them off it if they have you on overcards.

You're right though, a serious bet would seem to commit you. I think its read dependant here in terms of what would the put you on and what does it mean when they flat call pf? Did you have any reads?

I hate to admit it, but I'm very poor at picking up reads. I know that MP1 is in almost every pot, raised or not. In fact she knocked me out of this tourney calling my BBx6 raise with J8s to beat my pocket tens. I don't rember anything about the small blind. The table in general called a lot.

If that's the case, I like it less.

I'd like it better if you had a back-door draw and even then I'm not a big fan. You're risking your tournament on what is essentially a drawing hand with two cards left. Your opponent had 12 outs twice, which makes her about even money with you, but it could have been much worse. Too much risk for too little reward, I think.
