Did any of you know that John Kerry has been in the Senate for almost 20 years? I recently heard this and if I knew it before I guess I just forgot about it.

I knew he served in Vietnam but he has actully been in the Senate for almost 20 years? Can any of you verify this?

What's your point? Why would you need us to verify this? There are sources of information that can tell you whether or not this is true.

Kerry was first elected to the Senate in 1984. He got easily re-elected in 1990. In 1996, he was challeneged by a very popular Republican Governer, Bill Weld. Weld was the only person who could have kept Kerry under 60% that year. It was a clean race which Kerry won by a solid margin. Kerry won a 4th term in 2002.

Prior to being a Senator, Kerry was the MA Lt. Governor under Michael Dukakis (1982-1984?).
