Anyone planning on attending the 2005 WSOP Satellites beginning next week? I wonder what kind of turnout they will have for these.

Also does anyone in the Chicago area know anything about this Gardetto's "Poker Nights" tournament they are promoting on 670am The Score? I can't find any info about it anywhere.

Odd..poker anywhere in Chiaago is illegal, unless it's for charity.

Well it's not IN Chicago, just the Chicago area (aka Northern IN, where all the poker action is anyways).

You need to stay more on top of things /images/graemlins/smile.gif

"Win your seat into the 2005 World Series of Poker by participating in the new "No Limit Texas Hold ´Em" Satellite and Super Satellite tournaments. Poker Satellite Tournaments will be held every Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday at Harrah´s beginning Monday, October 4th. Registration for the Satellite Tournaments will take place at 4pm on Mondays & Tuesdays, and at 10am every Wednesday in the Poker Room. The Monday & Tuesday tournaments will begin at 6pm, 8pm, 10pm, and 12am, with the Wednesday tournaments taking place each week at 12 pm, 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm.

The single table Satellite Tournaments will offer ten players an opportunity to compete for the chance to advance to one of the six Super Satellite tournaments, where the winner will win a seat into the 2005 World Series of Poker. The cost to enter the Satellite Tournaments will be $30, plus a $10 entry fee. In addition, avilable Super Satellite seats may also be purchased on the day of the event during registration time for $330.

The six Super Satellite Tournaments will be held on November 7th, December 12th, January 16th, February 20th, March 27th & May 1st. Each Super Satellite tournament consists of 60 players and will begin at 12pm. The grand prize winner of each tournament will win $3,000, along with a seat into the 2005 World Series of Poker! Plus, the second through fifth place winners of the tournaments will all split the remaining cash prize pool!"

They keep advertising them on the SCORE where they are giving away free seats (cash value $500). I believe the sats will be at Harrahs East Chicago but I'm not sure when.

Probably not even worth looking into. No doubt $500 for a ludicrously structured crapshoot. There will be much better opportunities available online unless you go to one of the SCORE broadcasts and win a free entry.

The radio ads always claim $500 cash value for the free seat?

Check out what I posted, they are starting next week for single table satellites ($30+10), that are held 4x per day. 60 people per Super sounds good to me.

That's what Harrah's is known for.

I thought it was $6? And $5 isn't that good anyway.

For those of you guys who frequent Harrah's (I've yet to actually get there, just turned 21 in June), have they said anything about this tournament that 670am The Score keeps promoting? I thought it was different than the WSOP satellites, since they were calling it the Gardetto's Poker Nights event. But I haven't been able to find any info about either on the net (besides the short paragraphs I posted about the satellites).
