No you're not crazy its just a tough call, and a pretty player dependent one. Some guys Ive seen only make this sort of odd play when they have me beat, and some are just comstantly trying to push people off hands with crap. Of course, if he does have a 5 he's retarded b/c he could have just check-raised you and you would have been totally committed. As usual, this does not mean he didnt have a 5, as retardation is in season.

You've already put 40% of your stack in ($20), you have $30 behind and the pot is $52. At this level, with no reads, I can't call quickly enough. You will be winning against all kinds of trash a lot of the time. I wouldn't be surprised to see AK, KQ, KJ, ect. or a club draw. If he has a 5 here, no worries, his money will be coming around. If he has 88, so be it, just reload and get him next time.
