Laying 5 on the Jets in Miami seems ridiculous to me.

Have you seen Miami play?
They lost their starting running back, their going to start A.J. "Interception" Feeley. Thier Defense is fighting with their Offense. The Jets are one of the best teams in the AFC.
If it comes down to running game vs. running game...Jets win in a landslide.
If it comes down to passing game vs. passing game...Jets win in a landslide.
If it comes down to defense vs. defense...it's a wash with possibly favor towards Jets given that the Miami offense is one of the worst in the league.

The only way you take Miami is if you think that their defense will hold the Jets to less than 15 points...cuz their not going to score that many themselves.

Just out of curiosity, why is that Ed?

I'm new to sports betting and just am trying to learn.

I see it as a better than average Offense up against a better than average Defense that is going to be on the field most of the day because MIA's offense is just plain bad. I don't think that giving up 5 is that bad, but again, I'm just a newbie.

I'de worry if the line was 7.5 points or more...given that the fins do have a strong field goal kicker, but I actually think of the all the teams the dolphins have played, this is the best team they have faced.
Yes..the Jets are better than the Titans.

I'm with Ed...laying chalk on a road team is a risky play, especially giving five points. Given that Miami has a terrific defense and the Jets have a very suspect one, I would stay away from this one.

and all of this has already been factored into the line. don't you think?

p.s. Nothing but road favs on bad numbers is not good. You def. should have bought IND down to 3 or hoped it dropped.

I don't know a damn thing about handicapping. I'm just posting here because I'm bored.

Now that that's out of the way... laying five points on the road against a divisional rival who absolutely HAS to win this week? Maybe the Eagles... but the Jets?

So I just pick four games? Why is it called 3+1?

An 'official' 2+2 tourney is prohibited I believe, either that or I missed something.

Fiedler is starting..that could rain on my $200 bet...but it depends which Fiedler shows up and also how shitty the o-line plays.

Yes, four games each week, four different bet amounts. Look at the official rules post that I just bumped for exact details.

The "3+1" thing was a fun poke at Mason for his early "not an official 2+2 event" reply to early posts this year. If you care to read it, should be in the Other Gambling forum
