What's with the tournament comment in Party's reply ? You were playing a ring game right ? I think tourneys and ring games have different all-in/disconnect policies - it might be worthwhile to point out that its a ring game to support.

I just had a similar problem.

I was in the middle of the tournament (on the bubble).

I had just called an all in w/QQ and was called by another player. The game just froze. I had no idea what happened in the hand.

I tried their phone line, the live chat, etc. The live chat was not working, and the phone menu takes forever to get through. I had not yet been able to speak to a human being when my game came back and I got to see myself come in 2nd as a result of repeatedly folding. I guess I had won the earlier hand. (To be fair, the automatic "fold for 2nd place" strategy may have gotten me a better result than I could have on my own. /images/graemlins/grin.gif)

The response from Party was very frustrating. Basically it was "sorry but it was the problem of some server that doesn't belong to us." They might have well just said "F*** You."

Anyway, I did end up placing (and it was just a crappy $5 tournament anyw), but it was extremely frustrating.

HERE IS THERE REPLY:

Dear Richard,

Thank you for contacting us.

With regards to the e-mail that you have sent us, I am sorry to note that you have been facing inconvenience due to Internet delays.

We wish to inform you that this could be due to various reasons, none of which can be influenced by us, like the number of Internet gateways that fall in between our site and your system (more number slows down the process.

Also, if any of these intermediate servers are slow, the transmission to your system will also slow down), configuration of your system, the number of applications you run simultaneously, the amount of available memory space on your system etc.

If you have a dial up connection, which is the minimum requirement, you may wish to upgrade to a cable or a fixed line Internet connection that will minimize the chances of disconnections.

To run our software a minimum requirement of 10000 K available memory is suggested.
Please follow one or all of the following suggestions to enhance the available physical memory on your system:

1. Please delete all unwanted files / temporary files on your system and free memory space.

2. Please run only our software and shut down all other programs running simultaneously.

3. Please play on only one table at a given time.

4. Please disable animations / sounds.

5. If none of the above work, we suggest that you should go in for a memory upgrade.

Please feel free to write back to us if the problem persists.

You took $6 to this tournament and came out with $15 from this tournament.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Department at any time. We are here 24/7 to assist you via email.

Thank you for choosing us as your online gaming site!

Party has gotten one heck of a lot better than they used to be. I used to lose my connections on a regular basis and literally lost thousands because of it.

The most screwed up it gets is when you're at 3 tables and lose the connection to only 1 of the tables when the other 2 are fine and Party still says that there is nothing wrong on their end.

I was in a tourney once where 4 of the 5 guys lost their connections and Party still refused to acknowledge that it was their issue.

Most of these problems happened over a year ago and I haven't had too many problems in the last 2 months I've been back.
