I've been watching the ESPN Classic broadcasts of the WSOP coverage from the 90's. They seem to have skipped the '96 tournament. Anyone know why?

Dick Van Patten finally violated all laws of the space-time continuum by asking his one-millionth stupid question about hold 'em in the space of just 8 short minutes. Then the set blew up.

Don't know why they skipped the '96 WSOP (it would be exciting to see how Huck played hands w/o hole-cams, but of course Dickhead van Patten would cancel out any possible excitement)---instead they showed the '96 US Poker Champ. at Midnight EDT last night (what happens there?) and they're showing the '97 WSOP tonight at midnight

Oddly enough, Phil Hellmuth berated a guy for calling when Phil didn't think it was appropriate.

I know, you're stunned.

Yeah, he berated the guy and did his thing but what about the part where he wanted a bathroom break before the scheduled break? That was comedy!!

Watching Phil blow his giant chip leader was pretty incredible.
