View Full Version : WHAT TO DO?

OK, i run a home game, every Monday night and Thursday night.....

for the last few months we have been playing Limit Poker between 2-4 and 5-10.... with mostly the same guys....

Now for the last month I've changed it to NO-Limit, and let me just tell you, these people I play with just have NO CHANCE IN HELL!!!

But the title to this post is (WHAT TO DO??)

I'm afraid because of this Structure now, I may begin to lose clientel, because I was a small winner at 3-6, 4-8....ect.....but NOW i'm a huge winner at NO-Limit, basically the competion I have is very weak, well extremely weak..... every mistake in the book, they make it, plain and simple. I want them to keep coming, but I don't want them to realize that they have no chance, and I will not dump to them, I will continue as much as I can to beat them down, because I am making such a huge profit.

What do I do here, I'm in a real fix?

If your post is indeed serious I suggest you either double the ante/blinds or drastically lower the maximum buy-in. Maybe both depending on how the game is structured now. You'll still have an edge but they'll be forced to play in a way which won't make you an automatic winner.

Also keep in mind that even if they're making many mistakes you are still going to go to bed a loser on occaission. In addition, if you're playing correctly there will often be more than one person showing a profit at the end of the night. Best of luck. Billy (LTL)

switch back to limit. if your going to take their money, at least give them some entertainment value and half a chance. This is a big reason why you dont see no limit in casinos/cardrooms. weaker players bust out too easy.

if they keep losing, theyll eventually leave. your front loading your profit using n/l, when in the long run with these guys youll make more staying with limit.

just an idea...

Mikey,

I wouldn't mind driving up to north Jersey to play.

As far as what to do, if they don't mind losing, keep the game at no limit. Or you can always rotate the games. One week no limit, one week pot limit, one week half pot limit.

Just some ideas, and let me know if I can play with you guys.

See you soon
