Some buddies and I were planning on a trip to Montreal, maybe see an Expos game and hit some casinos while we're there...I just heard though that there aren't card rooms in the casinos there - can anyone lend any truth to that? Any other travel advice while we're there - restaurants, casinos...? Thanks for the info!

There is only 1 casino in Montreal, and I don't think there are any card rooms there. If you want to play poker there is the Akwesasne Mohawk casino 45 minutes west in Hogansburg, NY. It is fairly small with usually one game of 3-6 HE and one 1-5 7cs going on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights (sometimes they have higher up to 10-20). They can be found at www.mohawkcasino.com (http://www.mohawkcasino.com), you can get directions from there. They also have tournaments on the first and last sunday of the month.

There are no poker room in Montreal 'casino ( yet ) . If you 'll bet in town next week-end , there is a tournament next sunaday of limit hold'em at the Mohawk Akwasasnee casino which is 1 hour from Montreal . The buy-in 50$ and there are re-buy . THEY don't take a rake on this tournament ; all the money is given back to the winners . There are some private game of HE in mOntreal , but I don't think it's permitted to " make publicity " of private game on this forum .

Montreal is the closest casino to us in S Burlington, Vt, but we no longer go there; no comps of any kind, so-so service, and as Nick has noted, no poker.

All that was said above is true, but who would pass an opportunity to play against PiquetteAces, the great french canadian player. :-) (hey, I didn't say it Steve did) Plus you might get to see Steve play guitar and Emma going ballistic...
