Just moved up from Party $.5/1 where I was making 10BB/100. I have played about 1000 hands at Party $1/2, and am averaging -6BB/100. I think I may be being a little loose expecting to make 10BB/100 at $1/2. Realizing that 1/2 is tighter and more aggressive than $.5/1, I know I need to tighten up a little. Therefore, in order for my to get my expectations in line here, I would appreciate anyone, everyone responding to the following:

What is a reasonable BB/100 goal for $1/2? What is your BB/100 at 1/2, and how does it compare to your BB/100 at $.5/1?

Thanks

how many hands did you have at 5./1 with 10bb/100?

10BB/100 hands is obscene at any level.

I imagine a reasonable long-term goal for a winrate would be somewhere between 2.5 - 4, but that's just a shot in the dark.

Edit - There's a similar thread about winrates over in SS. Something about goals and moving up limits.

$1/2: 8.5K hands, 4.91bb/100, but i think sample size is insufficient.

Only 5000 hands that I have counted in PokerTracker. I would guess another 5000 had been played at .5/1 before I got PT, maybe 10,000 and I had made close to $300, so 6BB/100 or 3BB/100 respectively, average that with my PT 5000, I am at 8BB/100 or 6BB/100 respectively. Believe you me, I have had my share of downswings, 120BB+, 80BB, numerous times, I sure don't feel like I am just on rush (but I may be). Is that 10BB/100 deceiving me? Can that simply be a good run?

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, it can (and likely is) just a good run. Not that we'll ever know, as there is no reason for you to go back to 0.5/1 to find out. /images/graemlins/smile.gif It's dead certain you are a winning player, and no reason you shouldn't be at 1/2 still.

Thanks for the supporting words Rudbaeck. With the other responses I began to feel like a like newbie on a rush (disregard any true skill involved) /images/graemlins/wink.gif. I will have to realign my expectations for $1/2, and continue to learn.

1. It's not dead certain you're a winning player.

2. The sample size is way too small By a factor of 10, too small.

3. In the long run, any BB/100 over 2 is very good.

Thanks for the insights bison. I guess time will tell whether I am and will be a winning player. In the mean time however, I will assume that I am a reasonable player and see what type of success I have at $1/2.

Exactly. Good.
