Earlier today Party experienced some server difficulties while I was playing in a $15/30 game. During the hand right before the disruption I won a pot containing $327. However later I recieved an email from Party stating that game had been counted as a "misdeal". The hand was cleary completed and I believe I got screwed. A copy of the email and hand history is provided below. What do you think?

Write them back and argue your point, even call them. I would for $300.

It looks like they did the right thing. It appears that some of the other players were disconnected before you, which affected the outcome of the hand.

I've been on the other end of this where 3 of 4 people got disconnected, and the remaining player kept raising and stealing all the blinds until PP caught it.

I don't agree, I think he should argue to get that pot. He had the hand, and he wasn't taking advantage of a Party glitch. The other players had already put their money into the pot, if anything if there was a glitch on Party it helped his opponents lose less money.

I think he should be given that pot.

This is not a tourney, its a cash game. The other players got disconnected, he would have won the hand anyways, try and get your money back.

I would certainly TRY to get your money back by writing, calling, whatever. Unfortunately, I can see why they wouldn't give it back to you.

You didn't indicate how much time elapsed during the hand, but from the "????" and "wtf" comments, etc., and the disconnect-fold of jdb442002, it seems that the problem started during the hand. jdb might have had 99, 22, 44, K4, 42, etc. so if Party disconnected him, he should be the one screaming for the money.

Of course they should have stopped the hand prior to "completion", but even the fact that they recognized the problem within 10 minutes surprises me from my previous, similar experiences on Party. I'd certainly fight for my money. I also think you had the best hand, but you can't really know for sure.

I highly doubt they will change the status of the hand. If they'r going to give you money, it will be from party to you. They can't change the balances of other players in the hand at this point :>

you defeinately got screwed.

One thing I know some sites have is "All in Protection".

If I am bet pre flop and flop, but get disconnected by the turn it just puts me all in. The pot is still live for others, and I can win equal to what I have put in the pot.

So this seems like a total screw job if you ask me.

if i read your post correctly, you played A8s UTG in a $15/30 limit game. i truly believe you should muck that unless your table was typically loose and passive, which i doubt is the case at $15/30.

oh yeah, my table got shut down in the middle of a hand as well this morning. wouldn't have made any difference, though because i would have timed out anyways. my 6 month old daughter was fussing, and when i went to pick her up, i noticed a certain smell. she had really let loose with a load of doo that would make Granny's 15,000 some odd pound ass jealous of. there goes another $5.00 onesie! took me 10 minutes to fix that one. glad to know i'm gettin' my money back.

cheers!

You got screwed. Ask for the money back.

If the completely refuse, ask them if they can give you the money as a bonus that you have to clear. I had a problem with a hand involving disconnection in which I had the absolute nuts and lost the pot and even though they wouldn't credit my account for the money, they gave me the amount of the pot in the form of a bonus which I was more than happy to take.

I called Party Poker and spoke to two representitives. They said that they could not credit my account because the server started having problems in the midddle of the hand and therefore it is a "misdeal".

They said that I should read their Disconnection Protection and Cancelation Policy, so I did and this is the only relevant passage:

"Game cancellation policy:

REAL MONEY GAMES: Each player will be refunded back the exact amount of money he or she had at the start of the hand at the time of cancellation."

My next step is to compose an email laying out my arguement. The hand was clearly allowed to be completed in its entirety. I will then try to compromise with them and suggest a bonus like Warik has recomended.
