Ok, after reading all of things, I want to know what the odds of this happening, because this really did happen to me....

Hand one, i get dealt 88

hand two, i get dealt 77

hand three, i get dealt 66

hand four, i get dealt 55

and hand five, i get dealt 66

this all happened in a row.....

THIS IS THE TRUTH.......what are the odds.....

P.S. I flopped Quads, i had two 3's in my hand, and the other two came on the flop.

p.s. getting dealt pocket AA's 3 times in a row is unlikely but in can happen......if someone can hit the POWER BALL LOTTERY at a 70,000,000 to 1 shot, why couldn't someone get dealt pocket AA's 3 times in a row.....

Somebody is going to ask, if you said 87654, would that count as "this?"

By my calculations, at least a few 2+2ers must have been dealt rockets three times in a row.

Incidentally, when we go bowling, I get way more strikes than anybody, even though I score worse.

I think it has something to do with kinetic friction, and the fact that I use that sparkly girly ball.

I doubt if I could be doing anything different at the poker table, though!

Just to deliver more "BS," I think I remember getting 4-of-a-kind maybe six times total?

I know I remember the first time, and definitely at least three other times.

Odds of 4 pairs in a row are :

[(6*13)/(52*51)/2]^4 = 1 in 83521 hands or 2088 hours if you play 40 hands an hour. Should happen every few years if you play part time.

Oh you had 5 in a row. That's harder. 1 in 1,419,857 hands or 35,496 hours. Maybe a once in a lifetime event or less for a part timer.

I intended

[(6*13)/(52*51/2)]^5

Same answer though.

is that the odds for ANY pair 5 hands in a row? or the odds for 1 specific pair on each hand?

sort of related story.

home game on friday. super late, most of my friends are drunk and playing stupid. i flop a great draw, miss the flush but end up with a measly pair on the river. i bet and get called, my hand is good (don't ask why they called, i told you they were drunk). then my friend complains that he didn't even have a pair on that hand. i tell him 'don't worry, ill deal you a pocket pair this hand' (i usually call HE in the dealer's choice game. POSITION POSITION POSITION!!) he says 'thanks' and then i add 'pocket pair of TWO's ha ha!!'

he laughs, i deal, we play the hand. after the hand is over he had mucked but his hand wasn't exactly irretrievable from the muck. he pulls his hand out, and shows me 22!! pretty funny, even if it is only a 220-1 shot. we had a good laugh!!

getting dealt a pair of 22's is 220 to 1 shot, but getting dealty any pair is 5.88%

I was sitting next to friend who had 85o in the BB. Flop comes AQ5. He checks and it's 2 bets back to him, he mucks after showing me and I just remarked to him in a smart-ass manner that "you never know...it could come runner, runner, 5, 5." Well, as I'm sure you've all guessed by now, it did. Odds of that happening 1:1081*(whatever the odds are of me saying such a thing.) Got a good laugh out of it.

Once a jek, always a jek

right. and that's what was weird. i said i'd deal him a pocket pair of 22. and then i did.
