Both of these hands pretty much summed up my night to this point. I'd been at the table for about 2 orbits when the first one came up.

Since I'd sat down, MP1 had seen literally every flop regardless if it had been raised or re-raised in front, but this was the first time I'd seen him put a raise in before the flop himself.

Hand 1

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif, Q/images/graemlins/club.gif.
<font color="666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="CC3333">MP1 3-bets</font>, <font color="666666">6 folds</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero caps</font>, MP1 calls.

Flop: (9.50 SB) K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, K/images/graemlins/club.gif, J/images/graemlins/heart.gif <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">MP1 raises</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (6.75 BB) 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="CC3333">MP1 bets</font>, Hero folds.

-------------------------------------------------

The cold-caller in Hand 2 is the villian from the Hand 1 (big surprise). UTG+1 had just taken a seat a few hands before this one, so I don't have anything on him yet.

Hand 2

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, Q/images/graemlins/club.gif.
<font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 3-bets</font>, UTG+2 calls, <font color="666666">7 folds</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero caps</font>, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls.

Flop: (13.50 SB) 5/images/graemlins/club.gif, 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif, K/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 raises</font>, UTG+2 calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (9.75 BB) K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 bets</font>, UTG+2 calls, Hero folds.

Did I call one bet too many on both of these?

Give up too soon on either?

All comments appreciated.

Hand 1: fold to the flop raise. Barring a LAG you're only ahead of AQ, TT and 99 (if he would 3 bet that).
Hand 2: i would call down. I think this could be AQ, AJ, JJ, TT. Plus UTG+2's apparently rnadom hand gives you a nice overlay so you can win less often and profit.
