View Full Version : 2+2 Forum has some competition

I gather Mike Caro and Roy Cooke have teamed up to start a new forum called "United Poker Forum" or something. Might be worth a look particularly since Roy appears to be posting often.

Hope this post isn't seen as some kind of advertising or whatever for the new forum...I've got nothing to do with it.

They are welcomt to try. I do not see anyone's poker forum coming even close with the respect to quality and versatility of poker analysis to the of the 2+2. Hence, I don't think the 2+2 mgmt has much to be concerned about - not in a long while anyway.

Hi SKP:

We expect to see other poker forums (and many books for that matter) being produced and managed by others. As poker continues to grow it is just a natural and expected by product. So we generally don't react to it one way or another.

However, it is the purpose of this site to streer our readers towards good material. That means that after this (new) forum has been around for a while, if we think it has value we'll establish a link to it.

In the meantime, we'll concentrate on making our site as best as it can possibly be.

Best wishes,

Mason

After taking a good look at some of the posts, the site appears to be geared more towards lower limit players.

They plan a "formal opening" on August 21.

Great and classy response.

FWIW, I took a look at the United Poker Forum yesterday and there wasn't much of interest (at least to me). I imagine it takes some time to get these things going. I like the way Mike and Roy write and one would think no matter what they do it can't be worse than RGP.

"we'll concentrate on making our site as best as it can possibly be"

And IMHO you're succeeding.
