View Full Version : Casino Dealer Error?

I have a general question about something that happened in a casino (Foxwoods), where I think the dealer made a mistake. Please let me know. Here's the scenario:

I'm playing 2/4 limit holdem and the section of the casino that we're in is closing, so we get moved to another table. One person had left, so since we only had 9, they moved us to a stud table. The dealer rack only had $1 & $5 chips, and none of the $2 chips that are normally used.

Someone is all the way down to the felt, so they ask to buy more chips at the table. They give the dealer a $100 bill and ask for $2 chips. The dealer, seeing that she has none in the rack, asks a player (who is up a lot) if they she can have a rack of $2 chips. I assume that she would give him greens or blacks. She takes the $100 bill and gives it to the player for half of a rack of $2 chips. The player then takes the $100 bill and puts it in his wallet.

Now I would consider this taking money off the table, but I knew that I was leaving in about 30 minutes, so I didn't say anything.

Am I right? Isn't he taking money off the table?

Your insight is appreciated.

I've seen people who were leaving sell chips to the person taking their place, but that's it.

Your example is exactly the same as taking money off of the table, imo.

These types of threads really belong in Brick and Mortar (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=cardroom). 2+2 has different forums for a reason.

Excuse me for not conforming to your exact forum. As you saw from the post, I was playing low-limit holdem. I didn't realize that people were so picky. My apologies.

Yes dealer error, no it doesn't make that much difference, IMO.

I know that people who direct others to different forums come off as nitpicking, but a good reason for it is that you will tend to get better responses in the appropriate forum.
