I find this situation unclear for some reason. Let's say you are up 6500 - 1500. What's the general strategy here for the large stack? Get looser - and apply pressure - or tightn - and wait for a raise when you are loaded?

Is there any type of ROT - like raise whenever you get a top 30% hand?

It depends a lot on the blinds. You want to pressure them with poor hands but you need to back off when it gets to the point that they will have a hard time folding. Realise also that they will be pretty desperate to steal, so call somewhat looser than normal when they raise.

Hands to play are situation dependent. If they are in a situation where they can fold their blind, you can slam it in with just about anything. If you think there's a good chance they will call you need at least a queen. Call their desperation steals with any king and good queens.

i like play tight because any extra chips you give him, will mean double that if he gets all-in later and wins. just wait for a good spot and get him all-in.

Eh... You gotta wait for a decent position, and you don't bleed off chips, but DO NOT play weak-tight! With blinds up, a guy can win a tourney just by constantly taking your blind.

Be aggressive, steal quite a bit, but don't be afraid to lay it down.

It actually really depends on your opponent here as well. If your opponent has any holes, you've got exploit them for all it's worth.
