Have discussed the Ravens elsewhere.

I think the Broncos will beat the Chargers but TEN points /images/graemlins/confused.gif, they are going to have to score eleven points before the Chargers even need to score, and by all accounts week one was not a true indication of things to come from the Broncos.


Falcons surprised me this week, and although STL might turn out to be significantly overrated, and make ATL's result less strong, AZ are just plain grim.

Steelers is easy, they are playing Miami who are woeful, giving me a point is very kind, thanks.

Bears at Vikings - Big win at Green Bay for the Bears. Lovie Smith was an integral part while an asst in Tampa in designing a defense to stop Brett Favre. As many have seen he has stated the #1 goal this season for the Bears..."Beat the Packers". Mission accomplished. Look for a letdown after last weeks performance and for the Vikes to come out fired up at home after shooting themselves in the foot Monday night in the red zone.

Still like the Ravens here. Defense will put tremendous pressure on Palmer and create good field position for the offense also should win the TO battle. Lewis has averaged 127 yds/game in last 6 vs Bengals scoring 6 TDs.

Seems simple enough. Sure Detroit is 2-0. Reminds me of the line in Sea Biscuit........beaten who? Eagles too much here.

<font color="red"> Eagles </font> I hate picking the Eagles because I cannot stand them and I know the dangers of picking against home dogs, but there's no way Detroit stops that offense the way it's been playing. I expect Philly to win by at least a TD. Unfortunately.

<font color="red"> 49ers </font> SF looked pretty good on the road last week, and Seattle didn't. I don't care how good the 'Hawks are: 11 points is too many.

<font color="red"> Texans </font> Almost picked the Chargers here (as above, 10 points is a big spread for a divisional game), but I see too much similarity between that game and Denver's blowout of KC -- in Denver, bad defensive team, etc. I still think that's a good play, but I'll take the Texan's against a possible Priest-less Chiefs team with a bunch of receivers nursing injuries of some kind or another. David Carr is looking good (better than Trent Green, anyway) and I expect Domanick Davis (looking to prove himself after his fumble difficulties of the past few weeks) to have a big game, a la Griffin in Week 1 against KC.

Speaking of Yankees, I can probably take the blame for all the hurricances and some other stuff: As a Yankees fan since about 1977, I recently placed money on the Red Sox to win the ALCS and the WS. If the Red Sox make the WS (or the Yankees don't make the ALCS), maybe I'll gain a new appreciation for the suffering of Sox fans.

I ran it past another lifelong Yankees fan and he agreed with my logic. The Sox offense is as good as anyone and they Sox have a top heavy pitching staff (good for series - using #1 &amp; #2 (occasionally #3) starters) where the Yankees and Cards have pitching staffs that are better suited for the long season (using Nos. 1-5 starters).
