I think I'd check to see what the Button does when it's 2 bets to him. People who cold-call a cap pre-flop scare me.

close your eyes and try to lose as little as possible, en route to seeing a showdown. if an A or a K slide off, you're screwed.

go back to 15/30. it made me happy responding to that post.

HAHA, why is that?

I'm not ready for that game - I just wanted to try it out.

I spend a lot of time here, and I respond to your hand posts and you respond to mine, and it's nice to see some of us reaching the ultimate goal of 15/30.

Yeah, it's going to be cool when we're both regulars there. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't see that happening, as long as I continue to play 3 hours a week. I've played under 40k hands since I got PT on March 1.

you don't think so? i do, but mostly because i think i'm ready for it (but just barely) and i think we play about the same. i may just have no idea what i'm talking about heh. i've played around 4k hands there and things have been going really well. it's definetly not the cakewalk that some players make it out to be though.

just curious, but why can't you get in more time than this? you just don't want to? seems like if you were playing 1-2 tables just while posting on the forums you'd get some good hours in heheh.

I have lots of reasons/excuses. the main one is that I post when I should be doing something else. I do it to procrastinate. right now I should be sleeping. at 1, I said I'd go to sleep,b ut now its over 2 hours later and I'm still posting. I can't use playing as a method of procrastination, because it's involving. if I were to just get my [censored] done, and sleep for more than 4 hours, I wouldn't have any reason to procrastinate, and I'd play with all my free time. currently, I have no free time, because I'm constantly procrastinating, which technically isn't free time, because I'm SUPPOSED TO be doing something else.

That whole procrastination speech made perfect sense to me. College is great.

College?
I just heard a perfect description of my grad school career--amply evidenced by the fact that I turned of Party two and a half hours ago, and I'm still posting now.

Just how much better are the players at 15/30 compared to 3/6?

[/ QUOTE ]

Why? I only don't like this bet if your opponent is capable of bluff-raising you and getting you to lay down the better hand. Otherwise it seems fine to me. Sure, you may be an underdog when you are called, but I think this is one of those instances where you are a bigger dog when you check and your opponent bets.

AdamL

In that case, should you bet the river and fold to a raise?

[/ QUOTE ]

I make this bet on the river against the type of person against whom I can fold to a raise (there are many such players out there). If the player is capable of bluff raising then you are probably better off checking and hoping to induce a bluff in the first instance.
