Article is the normal bots could be playing poker stuff, nothing too great, but I thought it was funny that near the bottom of the article the author quotes a 2+2 post and references poster "loic"

Here is the 2+2 post (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=gossip&Number=964819&Forum =f15&Words=&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Main=957910&Sear ch=true&where=bodysub&Name=15977&daterange=1&newer val=1&newertype=y&olderval=&oldertype=&bodyprev=#P ost964819) referenced by the author. Personally I think it is possible "loic" was the article's author himself generating his own quotes.

This Mike Brunker guy is a tard. He should have cited "well-renowned poster loic."

This is also linked on slashdot right now.

Huh.

Some of the comments are making me question my assumption that slashdot people are smart.

The same article made it onto Metafilter. (http://www.metafilter.com/mefi/35732) The comments are interesting, mostly in a "what non-poker players think about online poker" sort of way. Predictably, several of them think it's outright shady and/or impossible to win, mostly because you can't pick up on tells, etc.

I saw this article yesterday, too, and thought it was mildly interesting, but mostly the typical stuff.

What i found more interesting was the other articles in MSNBC's series of stories on online gambling, its growth and the legal issues. These are linked at the bottom of the story bogey posted.

Now it's hit BoingBoing (http://boingboing.net/) as well. This story's got legs.

On a serious note, does anyone else think that articles like this will keep the good money away?

On a legal note, there is a case on its way up through the New York state's federal district court which could possibly end up deciding the issue of online gambling/poker for good. Although any real decision is still at least a few years away
