With play similar to Party .5/1 or other sites lowest limit the strategies employed at 2/4 to 5/10 dont really work at against the oblivious Pacific chaser......

Is it really that soft? Anyone else care to back up that claim?

Is Pacific the one where you can only single-table?

yes and yes. playing Pacific is just like playing live. one very slow, very soft table at a time.

I played 5/10 for about 3 weeks over the summer.

I will echo others statement...SOFT SOFT; like the very worst drunken Taj Mahal 2-4 game, calling 3 bets for one outers...and SLOOOOWWWW , when 8 people see a flop and they all take 15 seconds; we are talking some serious lag time. Im losing my mind trying to clear a bonus there. This is NOT a negative review. I just open up Poker Stars and play a SNG while I wait for my cards.

Gotcha. I was wondering if you were on the tables with me, but then I figured I would probably notice you on Pacific. You would stick out like a sore thumb, actually raising preflop.

I like playing one table on pacific while I multi other places. The 2-4 and 3-6 there are just crazy easy.

I concur. Anyone beating 2/4 party is beating 5/10 pacific. Its just a shame the lower stake game is more profitable due to the nubmer of hands/tables played. However, that's the whole reason its so soft over there I assume. Speed up the game and allow multitabling and it wont be so soft.

you don't even have to clear the bonus. it's yours to keep

Thanks, but I want to cash it out. Though I guess playing with the house would be better...(You can only cash out initial deposit)

Play 2/4 short there you can clear the bonus in about 8 hours. The games themselves are about as tough as Party .5/1 at 2/4 or less and Party 1/2, 2/4 at 5/10. They are just so slow because 8 see the flop at night at the 2/4 limit. You need the near nut to bet on the turn or river...

what I'm saying is you don't even have to clear the bonus. I didn't clear it and cashed out my full $100 bonus.

lefty said exactly what I was going to in fewer words. Be prepared for party poker .50/1 - like bad beats on a regular basis. If your brain can handle that at the 3/6 or 5/10 level without exploding into perma-tilt it can be a sweet place to spend time. The slowness I handle by 2 or 3 tables of party or empire running at the same time. Watch out for the occasional solid player fishing in the same pond though. They are not hard to spot after a few orbits. For the rest of the crowd treat them like loose passive micro-limit players and you can't go too far wrong. No fancy moves!!! You will only impress yourself.

According to the zoo, and what I read on the site, they changed that.

I believe you have to cash out now. But why would you ever want to leave?

Hmmmm, I have played maybe 10k at Pacific 1/2 and 2/4,
and I'm not sure it's *that* much looser than Party....

however, this may be a bad comparison for you if you aren't as religious about hunting up good loose party tables.

also, i tend to play afternoons EST, that may have something to do with it.

All in all, given pokertracker support, I prefer the 2/4 at Party > Pacific,
though the 1/2 and 3/6 are better at Pac.
