Early week 3 line move

With all the talk about line moves, I started looked at them. According to therx.com the early line on the CLE/NYG game was CLE -2.5 @ 8:47pm on 9/19, by 8:52pm the line dropped to CLE -1.5 The line is back up to -2.5, but according to what I've read on this board the smart money goes right after the line is set, and right before kickoff.

Am I reading too far into things, or does it look like the giants are again the play this week.

Olympic had the opening line set at NYG -1.5. I think OLY is the first line as far as offshore is concern. The line is now at NYG -2.5. CLE was never favored.

Oops my bad.... I read the favorite wrong.... /images/graemlins/blush.gif but not the line change.... I don't know anything about which sportsbook is first or not, I'm just going by what I saw at www.therx.com (http://www.therx.com)

I'm with you in that I don't know who comes out with lines first, etc. Even if I did, I don't know enough about early line movements. I haven't a clue what they mean. I wish I did. I just pay attention to how they move during the week and if it is in line with public perception.

Olympic is usually the first book (offshore) to hang the opening line. Then pinnacle usually follows.
