The Most Frequently-Occurring Flush

What flush would you say comes the most often?


From my experience, it would seem that,


1. clubs

2. hearts (1?)

3. spades

4. diamonds


is the order in which they arrive from clubs being the most common to diamonds being the least common.


But in order of the amount of money they each make when they do come, it would have to be,


1. spades (without a question)

2. diamonds

3. hearts

4. clubs


though I could see some possible argument about reversing the order of 3 and 4.


As such, the overall ranking of flushes as long-run money-makers would have to be,


1. spades

2. hearts

3. diamonds

4. clubs


Anybody disagree?


Perhaps someone could run a brute-force simulation, accounting for tourists' alternative calling preferences, of course.

Do you think people really play differently dependent on the suit they get, i.e. more likely to as2s than ad2d?


or are you sugeesting that certain suits flop more flushes and flush draws than others?


Both claims seem pretty far-fetched

A good departed friend of mine (Lucky Letterman) had a favorite saying: "Clubs always get there." Therefore I must say I agree in so much as clubs arrive more often. Who am I to argue with the dead?

In concept, it's not that odd of an idea. If you randomly ask men to pick a number from one to four, you will find a majority pick the number three. Don't know why.

I conjecture the following:


Club draws flop more than the others.

Heart draws are more likely to get there.

Spade flushes are worth the most.


Diamond draws are the least valuable.

I would say, in stud, clubs then diamonds, then hearts then spades. Are most likely to bring it in, and may get to stick around for only the bring-in, making them more likely to catch something seeing as they haven't folded. I have no idea which makes the most money
