View Full Version : "You still can be a loser"

that's what mason told me. not directly, but on page 64 of gambling theory and other topics. im a little worried. im having a bit of trouble calculating my SD and so on. ive been running really good since the start of this year (my results are below if anyone wants to be a dear and help me with the math), but i want to try and get a handle on what my true expectation is. ive still only played about 1000 hours in live games and probably another 800-1000 online since i started playing consistently early last year..

i have questions. for instance, for the sd do i really have to take 50 numbers and square them and then divide them by the hours played and then so on? or is there a math short cut?

starting 1-1-02, ending 3-26-02:

3-6k, 4-8k: -$524 over 10.25 hours.... -$51.12 per hour.

5-10 (online): -$850 over 12 hours.....-$70.83 per hour

6-12: $600 over 18.5 hours...... $32.43 per hour

all 8-16, 9-18: $1804 over 53.5 hours.......... $33.72 per hour

Just one comment: p60-63 in GTandOT (fifth edition) has a easy example to follow for computing the SD. Program excel to do it for you. Or the best way is to do it all by hand - The disipline will be good for you.

i spent the time and did the math and i came up with my SD being: 192.

you have to match your session win with length played.

if you post the pairs for 15/30 (18 sessions totalling 50 hours?) ill plug into my spreadsheet and comment.
