I usually just call here. It's generally either A.) a bluff, in which case your raise often won't be called anyway or B.) some sort of suck out or slowplayed monster that wants you to raise.

Itīs very player dependant. Not sure what I do if I know nothing at all aside from this hand.

What exactly did you put him on when you raised the river? Usually he's either got one pair beaten, usually handily, or he's bluffing. Raising the river should gain for you almost never.

I put him on J9 or a spade draw with a jack
