I'm in LP with A /images/graemlins/spade.gifA /images/graemlins/club.gif. 3 callers to me. I raise. Both blinds fold, EP folds, MP calls, LMP folds.

Flop is 4 /images/graemlins/spade.gif8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif3 /images/graemlins/spade.gif
Checked to me, I bet MP calls

Turn is J /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
Checked to me, I bet MP calls

River is 4 /images/graemlins/club.gif
Checked to me, I bet MR re-raises, I call (pretty sure I'm beat)

MP stayed with 84 /images/graemlins/heart.gif

Was I correct with the PF raise to narrow the field?

Should I have check/called the river?

What the hell did he stay with 84 /images/graemlins/heart.gif for? (I know the answer to this one).

Thanks in advance

"Was I correct with the PF raise to narrow the field?"

Yep.

"Should I have check/called the river?"

Don't even think about it. I love the easy ones /images/graemlins/grin.gif.

BTW - The BIGGEST reason you're raising preflop is because you have THE BEST HAND POSSIBLE, and you're losing money every time you don't. Just remember that.

no. You were correct to raise because you have the best freaking hand, and you want to win as much freaking money as possible. You would like everybody and their mother to call, because then you make more money when you win.
Stop trying to "limit the field"
Blech!
