What are the odds of 4 of a kind coming on the flop and turn?
Flop Q /images/graemlins/spade.gif Q /images/graemlins/diamond.gif Q /images/graemlins/heart.gif
Turn Q /images/graemlins/club.gif
For that matter what are the odds of any quads coming that way?
Finally, have you ever seen this happen?
Thanks

If the order doesn't matter,
one way: 1/C(52,4)=3.69379E-6
or another way: (4/52)*(3/51)*(2/50)*(1/49)=3.69379E-6
This equivalent to odds of 270724:1.

I think since there are 13 ranks and these are mutually exclusive events, we can just add the probabilities, which are all the same, so it's just 13*3.69379E-6,
which is odds of 20824:1.

Yes, with K's. I had the only A. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Edit: the inevitable typo.

I've seen it with Aces by the turn. I had a king and won the pot outright /images/graemlins/cool.gif

I saw it happen only last week on Royal Vegas - flop came 5-5-5 a futher 5 on the turn and then an A on the river. Some monkey then bet all-in - with the result than everyone had to call, feeding the rake! He/She left the table in a tirade of abuse.

Happen to me just yesterday, well sort of. Folded J5 preflop, the flop came 3 jacks. /images/graemlins/mad.gif
