View Full Version : Anyone clear a bonus at Absolute?

I just deposited at Absolute and started working on my bonus and there were only 2 2/4 tables on a friday afternoon. Adapting to a new site was frustrating, but worse was the nagging feeling that my opponents were pros there only to clear their own bonuses (it wasn't that loose). Finally, one of the tables shut down entirely.

Has anyone cleared a bonus there, and how long did it take you? I'm thinking that based on their points system, that I'm better off playing lower limit tables since any hand that rakes 75 cents is basically treated the same. Is that a reasonable strategy?

I have cleared some bonus' there, but I'm not sure how long it took me. You are right about their game selection, there just aren't many tables running. I just collect the bonus' and then play them off slowly when the games are running.

Actually the rake only needs to be 25 cents.

If you read the blurb at the bottom of the cashier window.

100 points for $10, 1 point for a raked pot of .25 (meaning pot was at least $5).

It's the same as Paradise, but there are more / softer .5/1 tables meaning that the bonus gets cleared quicker.

I just finished it today
Its really a pain in the ass as I was playing 1/2 or 2/4
Half the time your at a table everyone leaves and there are only like 2 tables to start with so it took a lot longer than it should have

In my opinion the 2/4 games are looser than the 1/2 games for whatever reason

Real pain in the ass I actually was down 60 bucks of my own money so I stillmade 150 which was good considering i was down 350 with 400 hands to go

How long do you have to clear it before it expires?

That is what the website says, but I've never had any bonus money stripped from my account and I'm sure I should have.

I can't do it. I'm down about $80 and I still haven't cleared even $10 of bonus. Some of it's bad luck, some of it is the 2/4 table seems tight, and another contributing factor is that I find the interface confusing. I think I'm going to slink back to Empire with my tail between my legs...
