View Full Version : Most beautyfull woman ever on the screen (at her time)

Martin Aigner

Just watching a movie with Sophia Loren right now, and as allways I think that no woman ever looked as good as she did. Actually she´s still looking great. Forget Ingrid Bergmann, Grace Kelly, Angelina Jolie and all the others. Sophia Loren is the nuts.

Anyone dares to disagree?

I'd rather have Katherine Ross.

The young Elizabeth Taylor (circa "Cat On a Hot Tin Roof") was pretty amazing, in my opinion. However, I also agree that Sophia Loren was pretty much a stand-out.

While I understand the Sophia Loren thing, I never personally found her to be more than merely beautiful.

My picks:

Grace Kelly
Jenny Agutter
Olivia Hussey
Phoebe Cates
Mia Kirschner
Emanuelle Beart
Gene Tierney
Hope Lange

and my pick for most beautiful screen actress of all time:

Isabelle Adjani

I am always awestruck when I see Audrey Hepburn in her prime. Wow.

Maureen O'Hara was a biscuit too circa "The Quiet Man".

Sophia Loren, Ann Margret, Natalie Wood- all quality.

when she looks good (including the background of this page) I'd put her up against anyone, ever. too bad those times are getting fewer and farther between.

worked with her once...she smokes like a chimney, had implants, and her arms are hairy.

Even so, she's certainly above average...but IMO, certainly doesn't belong on this list.

It's all subjective, though, so I don't begrudge your choice. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

This one I never got, either...yes, she's beautiful to look at...but like a gorgeous sunrise, or a delicate crystal glass...she does not provoke wanton lust in me, and that, by god, is my standard of femal beuaty!

I've never worked with her, never seen her in person, never will, and would get killed by my wife if I ever do. I think I'll stand by my assertion that, at her best (admittedly, again, a rare occurence lately) her on-screen image can go head to head with anyone.

There are a lot.. But, for some reason, the girl in The Graduate sticks out in my mind. She is a real Classic Beauty. Her name is Katharine Ross. (She plays the daughter of Anne Bancroft in the movie.)

Others.. Catherine Zeta Jones and Halle Berry.

i dont think anyone will ever be more beutiful and sexy than angelina jolie at her best. shes in a league of her own in my book. when she looks pouty and sultry....OH....MY...GOD. my wife even says shed do her and she never says stuff like that. i remember when i first saw hackers-unbelievable. she was very young then(of course i was too) and has gotten even better.

Phoebe Cates? I thought no other man in the free world thought she was hot. But she is!

Surprised no one has mentiond Catherine Zeta-Jones...it's hard saying another woman is more beautiful than she is. Maybe AS beautiful, but MORE beautiful?

When you are on the posting screen, underneath the text-entry window you will see an Instant UBB Code tag for Image. When you click on it, it will ask you for a URL. You can find an online image's URL in a number of ways. The easiest is to right-click on it, open it in its own window, then copy the URL out of the address box.

I always thought Catherine Zeta Jones had one of the more beautiful faces. Don't really care for her movies though.

M2d
09-17-2004, 05:33 PM
Agree that she's beautiful, but she always acts too manly (or maybe it's something else) for me. Hard to put my (figurative) finger on it, but I can't elevate her into the "all-time" class.

Unbreakable tie between Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.

Put a gun to my head and I'd probably pick Hepburn circa "Breakfast at Tiffany's"

Though Grace kelly in "Rear Window" was definitely easy on the eyes.

I'm mostly a writer these days but if you're in the film industry for any length of time, you tend to work different jobs - on that particular shoot, I was the 2nd assistant director.

This is easy. Cheryl Ladd in a cakewalk!! How about some underappreciated women? I give you Donna Reed and Barbara Bel Geddes from yesteryear and Laura Linney from the present.

You can all take your Angelina Jolie's, Sophia Loren's and Audrey Hepburn's. There's too much traffic there!

Dominic
09-17-2004, 10:22 PM
LOL...like you've got a shot with Laura Linney because there's "less traffic there."

Put me down for Ann-Margret. I only recently saw "Viva Las Vegas", a horrible movie, but when she was on-screen, I was completely unable to take my eyes off of her. She just OOZED sexuality, and that's something I usually only say about porn stars.

Angeline Jolie in Girl Interrupted is fantastic not just the looks but the psycho personality.

However the best woman in a film is Béatrice Dalle in Betty Blue, a french film I urge any man to see.

http://images.google.com/images?q=B%C3%A9atrice+Dalle&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&c2coff=1&start=0&sa=N
