Why play MAX 6 tables?

I have been playing .50/1 at PokerStars. They have at least 2 or 3 times as many MAX 6 tables going as 10 seat ring games. I end up waiting for a seat at the full ring games most nights. I haven't played any of the MAX 6 tables. What are your reasons for choosing to play the MAX 6 tables?

When playing 6-max tables, you play a whole lot more hands per hour. This increases variance and, if you're a winning player, profit. Shorthanded tables play a lot differently than full tables. Check out the shorthand forum for more info about this.
