A regular player and known character was playing in the game the other night. He had been losing steadily, and was at the end of his chips when he posted the big blind.


Just to clarify, I asked, Are you all in for the big blind?


He became quite agitated, stood up and grabbed his crotch with both hands. This is all I have left. Do you want me to bet it???!!! Of course, the whole table broke up laughing.


After he lost that hand and sent his crumpled cards into the muck, one of the guys said, You should have bet. Nobody is going to call your dick.

Whenever an Old West poker game is shown on a TV show or movie, one player inevitably asks if his watch/jewelery/trincket can be used to call a bet. Somebody grabs the item, bites into it, and says "gold". Everybody then accepts the item and it is put into the pot.


This opponent of yours would have enjoyed playing back then.

The proper response was "No short buys allowed sir."

But somebody might raise.
