I know, it seems like a trite question, but it's one that I don't have a definitive answer for.

Many of my decisions take the size of the pot in to account. As a general rule, I try to play tight if the pot is small, aggressive if the pot is big. But in HE, most decisions are borderline, or at least not intuitively obvious to even the most casual observer.

So in many hands, I have a hard time deciding weather a pot is big or small. Its usually somewhere in the middle. It seems like I have a tendancy to lean towards the aggressive, so more often than not I decide the pot is big and start hitting the gas. This might be a leak in my game.

So, on the early streets, what is a big pot? Do you use any criteria, other than just intuition or feel? How do you decide in borderline situations?
