I normally love 99, but I was lost on these two.

Hand 1: bet the flop

Hand 2: I play it the same way, I think you should have played hand 1 this way.

Hand 1 - Ugh. Bet the flop, please.

Hand 2 - I'm always torn about these river value bets against 1 opponent when a 2nd random overcard appears. There's no reason to think the J on the river changes anything, and yet it does create new ways to lose. A lot of the time I bet anyway.

I think here he is more times up against a busted flush draw who folds anyway, the times the other guy calls/raises he is more likely beat. Its not so much the J I am worried about but the overcard on the flop.

In the past I would definatley just checked, now I would bet more often but I think it may be more player dependant.

Hand 1: You are getting excellent return if he folds to your flop bet with PP or bottom pair. Then you will have position to check the turn if you think you are beat and he will call down...

Hand 2: Good.
